Concussion management is one of the most important components in sports development and injury prevention in rugby. In Botswana Paul and I were able to develop and complete a concussion management protocol for the BRU (Botswana Rugby Union). We constructed this protocol from our own knowledge learned in our degrees and were able to find other methods of management from Parachute Canada and World Rugby to help in the development of this protocol. Paul and I are excited to be able to officially run the first baseline testing seminar to the Gaborone Hogs rugby club, this Tuesday April 9th 2019! With this protocol implemented the development young athletes in Botswana rugby can excel further after a concussions and preventing their athletic careers to be cut short. With this protocol put in place we are able to “celebrate the power of sport driving social change, community development fostering peace and understanding.” Happy International Day of Sport for Development and Peace Everyone!!
