This past Saturday the TCIRFU hosted an inter school tag tournament for the primary and secondary schools in TCI. This was considered to be my major project over the time that I was on Island. Overall the day was very successful with great competition, lots of spectators and good sportsmanship shown by all. With 6 teams participating at the Primary school level, 5 in the high school U15’s and 4 in the high school u19’s tournament their was about 130 kids competing throughout the day. This was a great day to see all of the hard work that the students and I put in training and learning the sport of rugby over the last 3 months come together with some great playing. I was very proud at the end of the day at all of the kids that didn’t know anything about rugby a few months ago, to scoring and making great tags for their teams. I will definitely be missing the kids that I have been working with, and I can only hope they continue playing the sport even after I am gone.
