Sawubona! The past couple of weeks have been packed with so much work and fun, I don’t know where to start! As I’ve mentioned, our office was getting ready for Olympic Day events in three communities – Siphofaneni, Mbabane and Lobamba. The events were attended by more than 2,000 participants in total, and children participated in various sport events and dancing. It was a very hectic and long couple of days (we were up at 3:30am Thursday, and returned home at 8:00pm!), but it was incredible to see all the kids having fun and see that our work paid off. Next up for the office is preparing for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics!
The past week has been very special for me, as my boyfriend, James, travelled across the world for a visit! We packed in as many activities as possible, and we were both able to see different parts of the country. We tried our luck at the Happy Valley Casino, where James had some beginners luck. We toured many different markets including the Ezulwini Craft Market and Ngwenya Glass Factory. Our highlight was visiting Hlane Royal National Park for a day safari, where we saw elephants, lions, rhinos, zebras and gazelles! It certainly was a busy week, but I am so happy that I was able to share some of this crazy adventure in Swaziland with him!
Next up, Mitch and I will be travelling with the Finnish girls to South Africa for a 5 day safari through Kruger Park. I can’t believe we’re already halfway through our time in Swaziland, there is still so much more to do and see!
